2021 Hyundai Venue Denim Edition

Small car, bold look with big space and practicality

Venue price starts at $18,750.00

Is the Hyundai Venue all new for 2021?

No, the Venue was introduced in 2020 as Hyundai’s latest subcompact crossover. It’s an excellent entry-level car for the urban driver. Biggest change for 2021 is the elimination of a manual transmission. All trim levels now come standard with an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).

Hyundai Venue Trim levels

Hyundai Venue is offered in three trim levels:

  • SE
  • SEL
  • Denim (as tested)
As tested with MSRP of $22,390.00 including destination charge. Base price of $22,050.00.

I personally love the name and idea of a Denim Edition. The Denim blue exterior combined with the Denim interior gives the car youth and a sense of fun spirited vibes. The trim level also includes many standard option of safety and aesthetics. For instance Projector LED headlights, Dual power adjustable, roof-color outside mirrors, LED taillights, and Contrasting white roof and select trim pieces. What is the Hyundai Venue warranty?

What engine comes with the Hyundai Venue ?

1.6L DPI DOHC 4-Cylinder

The 1.6L 4-Cylinder produces 121 horsepower with 113 ft-lbs of torque. Considering the size and intended use of this vehicle, 121 horsepower is adequate power. It’s zippy from a stand still up to normal operating speeds.

Engine is mated to an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).

What are the interior features of the Hyundai Venue ?

The Venue is small in appearance from the exterior. After stepping in for the first time I was taken back by the spacious interior. The features struck me as trendy and hip. It has an impression of good fit and finish considering it’s an entry-level car.

Very surprised for an 8-inch touchscreen with strong infotainment capabilities including Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The technology available is above entry-level car standards.

How does the Hyundai Venue drive?

I have two perspectives to answer this question:

As a fairly tall, family man, It’s very spacious and user friendly. Easy to drive and not overwhelming. Simple features allow you to use this car as a resource to get from point A to B. It’s a tool that gets the job done and looks good doing it.

As a car enthusiast, Not sports car by any means, but not designed to be. I appreciate the efforts of making a resourceful car with “custom touches”. The 17-inch wheels, white roof, chrome grill, LED lights and Denim interior to name a few. Hyundai brought the details! I had a very pleasant time driving the car.

Final thoughts

Perfect price point for the amount of technology, looks and safety involved. Great boxy styling, youthful car with versatility/practicality. The Venue serves it’s purpose and you really can’t ask for more. Additionally it rates with a four start government safety rating. It fits a particualr segment and it checks off all the boxes.
