No, the 2024 Kia Sorento is not entirely new but has received a mid-cycle refresh with several updates. Nonhybrid trims feature a fresh front grille, revised taillights, updated wheel designs, and other tweaks. The cabin has been upgraded with changes to the dashboard and infotainment system. Additionally, new X-Line and X-Pro trims have been introduced to give the Sorento a more rugged appeal. Hybrid models remain unchanged mechanically but will receive the same styling enhancements as the nonhybrid versions.

2.5-Liter Turbo Four-Cylinder Engine
The Kia Sorento offers a variety of engine choices and can be configured with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The base model is equipped with a 191-hp 2.5-liter inline-four engine, while a more powerful 281-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is also available. Both engines are matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission. For the hybrid variant, Kia has a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder gas engine combined with an electric motor, producing a total of 227 horsepower and using a six-speed automatic transmission. The plug-in hybrid version, uses the same engine and transmission as the hybrid but delivers a combined 261 horsepower. The X-Pro trim is exclusively powered by the turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine.
What are the interior features of the Kia Sorento?
The interior of the Sorento boasts an appealing design, high-quality materials, and sturdy build quality. The dashboard features two vertical air vents on each end and maintains a clean, simple look. Ambient lighting is thoughtfully integrated throughout the cabin, while stitched details on the door panels and seat inserts add a touch of luxury. Numerous storage compartments and cupholders enhance the Sorento’s suitability for families. In addition to the standard third row, the second-row bench seat can be replaced with captain’s chairs for added comfort.
The nonhybrid Sorento features an updated infotainment system with a dual-screen setup arranged in a curved panoramic display. This includes a standard 4.3-inch digital gauge display and a separate 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Higher trims upgrade to a larger 12.3-inch reconfigurable gauge display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included across all models. Meanwhile, the Sorento hybrid retains the older interior design with a 10.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Additional features available include an optional wireless charging pad, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, and a rear-seat entertainment system.
How does the Kia Sorento X-Line SX Prestige Drive?
I have two perspectives to answer this question:
As a fairly tall, family man, the car is extremely spacious, a perfect family car. I think that was the purpose. It’s comfortable, quiet, and stylish.
As a car enthusiast, Comfort, good looks, and adequately powered. You really can’t ask for more understanding the purpose of this vehicle.
Final thoughts
A top contender in the segment! Also a popular one from what I see in the streets. The kia styling is just above and beyond most at this point. High-end features, safety, reliability and well priced.
