Rugged, versatile, hybrid-powered adventure.

Jeep Wrangler starts at $32,690.00

Is the Jeep Wrangler all new for 2025?

No, but it does receive several updates. Jeep initially planned to offer the V-6 only with a manual transmission but, due to public demand, has reinstated the automatic option. The Rubicon 392 V-8 has been discontinued, though the Rubicon 392 Final Edition remains for now. Convenience gets an upgrade with power locks and power windows now standard across all models. A new olive-drab-inspired exterior color called ‘41 joins the lineup, paying homage to the original WWII Jeep. Additionally, active cabin ventilation, which allows owners to pre-ventilate the cabin via a mobile app, is now available. A new limited-edition Backcountry model has also been introduced, with only 5800 units being made.

What engine comes with the Jeep Wrangler?

2.0L Inline-4 Tubro PHEV

The 2025 Jeep Wrangler offers a variety of powertrain options to suit different needs. The standard engine is a 3.6-liter V-6 producing 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, available with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic. A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is also available, generating 270 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque, paired only with the eight-speed automatic. The Rubicon 392 Final Edition boasts a 6.4-liter V-8 with 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, also mated to an eight-speed automatic. The 4xe plug-in hybrid combines the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with an electric motor for a total output of 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. My press vehicle was equipped with the 4xe powertrain

The Wrangler comes equipped with a standard part-time four-wheel-drive system, which is operated using a lever on the center console.

What are the interior features of the Jeep Wrangler?

The Jeep Wrangler’s interior blends classic Jeep styling with modern functionality. The upright windshield and squared-off dashboard feature round air vents and chunky switchgear for climate control, power windows, and infotainment. Visibility is commanding, though the thick roof pillars and roll bars can obstruct the rear view. The removable roof and doors enhance the open-air experience. Cargo space is practical but limited, especially in the two-door model, and the rear seats do not fold completely flat. The four-door Unlimited model offers more storage and passenger space.

All Jeep Wrangler models come equipped with the Uconnect 5 infotainment system, featuring a responsive and user-friendly 12.3-inch touchscreen. Standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while onboard navigation offers access to over 3000 mapped trails with a subscription. An active noise-cancellation system helps reduce cabin noise for clearer phone calls on the go. Although some basic comforts like air conditioning are optional on lower trims, the infotainment package remains comprehensive across the lineup.

How does the Jeep Wrangler Willys 41 4XE Drive?

I have two perspectives to answer this question:

As a fairly tall, family man: It offers a nice balance of adventure and practicality. The elevated seat position provides a commanding view of the road, but the interior space can feel a bit tight with three kids, especially in the rear seats. That said, the hybrid powertrain makes for smooth city driving. Despite not having trails to tackle in Miami, the 4XE still feels confident on city streets, and I appreciate its easy maneuverability.

As a car enthusiast: The 4XE gives a unique blend of power and efficiency, with the turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 hybrid engine delivering a strong 375 horsepower. It’s a fun, responsive ride, offering a surprising level of power. The hybrid tech doesn’t take away from the rugged Jeep experience; it just enhances it, providing a more refined yet still thrilling drive.

Final thoughts

The Jeep Wrangler Willys 4XE is a versatile and adventurous ride that balances off-road capabilities with city-friendly comfort. As a hybrid, it brings something new to the table while staying true to Jeep’s rugged roots. It’s a solid choice for someone looking to take on the occasional trail but also navigate daily life with ease, especially for families who appreciate the four-door option.
