Yes for 2026, the big news is the arrival of the Silverado EV Trail Boss. Chevy first hinted at this version years ago, and now it’s finally coming to market with a factory lift, 18-inch wheels on 35-inch all-terrains, red tow hooks, a revised front bumper, and its own Terrain mode. Beyond that, the Silverado EV carries over mostly unchanged into its second year.

Dual Electric Motors

The Silverado EV uses a dual-motor setup across the lineup. Output depends on the trim: the WT starts at 510 horsepower, the Trail Boss goes up to 725 hp, and the LT can reach 760 hp. All-wheel drive comes standard, with optional rear-wheel steering, adaptive air suspension, and available 24-inch wheels.

Chevy offers the Silverado EV with three battery choices: Standard, Extended, and Max. The Work Truck with the Max pack is rated at 493 miles of range, while the Standard battery tops out at 286 miles. The LT and Trail Boss with the Extended pack both deliver an estimated 410 miles, and opting for the Max battery bumps those trims to a GM estimated 478 miles.

Towing and Payload Capacity

The Silverado EV can tow up to 12,500 pounds and handle as much as 1,800 pounds in the bed.

What are the interior features of the Chevrolet Silverado EV?

The Silverado EV’s cabin can feel surprisingly upscale in higher trims, with features like a fixed glass roof, two-tone leather, and passenger space that’s similar to a crew-cab Silverado. Work Truck versions are much simpler, but that makes sense for jobsite use, and the easy-to-clean materials work in their favor. Chevy also moved the shifter to the steering column, which opens up a huge storage area between the dash and armrest. Overall space is generous, and adults fit comfortably in both rows.

Every Silverado EV includes an 11-inch digital gauge display and a large 17.7-inch touchscreen running Google-based software that you can customize. Chevy doesn’t offer Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on its EV lineup, and the LT and Trail Boss rely on built-in Google Maps for navigation. On the upside, the climate controls stay as straightforward physical knobs placed low on the dash. Standard features also include SiriusXM and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

How does the Chevrolet Silverado EV Trailboss Drive?

I have two perspectives to answer this question:

As a fairly tall, family man, size definitely isn’t an issue here this thing is huge. I fit easily, the seating position feels natural, and the cabin has more than enough room for my three kids, including the two in boosters. On the road, the ride is smooth for such a big truck, and the electric powertrain makes it quiet and easy to manage in traffic.

As a car enthusiast, The Trail Boss has real presence. The dual-motor setup gives it plenty of punch, and the off-road suspension and big tires add some confidence on rougher roads. It’s not a sharp handling truck, but the instant torque and overall stability make it fun in its own way especially for an EV this large.
