Rugged, and confortable
Jeep Cherokee starts at $36,995
Is the Jeep Cherokee all new for 2026?
Yes. The Cherokee returns for 2026 as a completely redesigned model after skipping the 2024 and 2025 model years. It rides on a new platform, has a longer wheelbase and more interior space, and gets a new hybrid powertrain. The design is also more upright and squared-off than the previous Cherokee.
Jeep Cherokee Trim levels
The Cherokee is offered in six trim levels:
- Laredo
- Base
- Limited
- Limited Altitude
- 85th Anniversary
- Overland
MSRP as tested $45,580.00 including destination charge.
What is the Jeep Cherokee warranty?
- 3-year /36,000-mile limited warranty
- 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain limited warranty
What engine comes with the Jeep Cherokee?
1.6L Four Cylinder with Electronic Motors
The Cherokee uses a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder paired with two electric motors. The hybrid system makes 210 horsepower and 230 lb-ft of torque, with power going through a CVT and Jeep’s Active Drive 4X4 system.
What are the interior features of the Jeep Cherokee?
The Limited gets perforated Capri leatherette seats, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power-adjustable passenger seat, and a power liftgate. There’s also more room than the previous Cherokee, including about 30% more cargo space behind the second row.
With a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster and a 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with wireless phone charging. Standard driver-assistance features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, automatic emergency braking, and Active Driving Assist.
How does the Jeep Cherokee Limited Drive?
I have two perspectives to answer this question:
As a fairly tall, family man: The extra space is noticeable, especially with three kids. I can fit two car seats in the back without making the front seats feel cramped, and there’s still useful cargo room behind them. The ride is comfortable and quiet, which is really what I want for everyday driving and school runs.
As a car enthusiast: The hybrid powertrain is smooth and has enough power for normal driving. It’s not a particularly exciting SUV, but the electric motors give it good response around town. Overall it feels refined and easy to drive.
Final thoughts
The 2026 Cherokee Limited makes a lot of sense as an everyday family SUV. You get useful space, standard 4X4, good fuel economy, and enough technology without stepping up to something much larger. For someone who wants a comfortable commuter that can handle family duty and occasional light off-road use, the Limited is probably the Cherokee I’d choose.
