Season 2 Episode 9: We go for a drive in the all new 2019 Ford Raptor – A Ford Performance vehicle. Powered by a 3.5L V6 Ecoboost High Output matted to an electric 10-speed automatic transmission.
2019 introduced some new feature like the Fox 3.0-inch internal bypass shocks, except now instead of just adjusting damping based on wheel travel, the shocks feature an electronically-controlled adaptive damping setup called “Live Valve,” which uses various sensors in both the body and suspension to change compression rates real-time.
Our test truck carries an MSRP of a $70K window sticker and equipped with the group 802A packaged consisting of the following:
Power-sliding rear window
4.10 front axle with torsen differential
360-Degree Camera
Trailer tow monitoring
Electronic auto temp control
Headed steering wheel
Inflatable rear safety belts
Integrated trailer brake control
LED box lighting
Pro trailer backup assist
B&O Sound System
Optional equipment includes:
17′ Cast aluminum wheels
4.10 Electronic lock rear axle
Twin panel moonroof
Tailgate applique
Raptor technology package
Adapt cruise-stopgo-pre colus
Bedliner toughbed spray
This test drive proved to be a blast and the truck was incredibly impressive. We consider it to be very well rounded, from a comfort, performance, and practicality stand point. $70K is a heavy price, but it is a special vehicle. In fact, taking delivery has found to be difficult in some cases and causing buyers to pay OVER sticker price. The demand alone would suggest it is worth the money.
We did take it off road for just a little, but that’s difficult to do in Miami. The donuts were especially fun!
To summarize: WE WANT ONE!
