Is the Ford f-250 super duty new for 2021?

No, the F-Series Super Duty lineup sees only a handful of additions for 2021. The new colors available are Antimatter Blue, Carbonized Gray, and Lithium Gray colors. On base models with the dual-rear-wheel axle, the XL Power Equipment package adds trailer-tow mirrors with heated glass and manually adjustable folding-and-telescoping functions. A bed step is now also available on all All Super Duty models.

f-250 Trim levels

The F-250 is offered in 6 trim levels:

  • XL
  • XLT
  • Lariat
  • King Ranch
  • Platinum
  • Limited (as tested)
As tested with MSRP of $85,180, not including destination charge

It’s widely known the Super Duty lineup is perhaps the most capable heavy duty truck on the market. Their huge array of trims also gives almost everyone the perfect tuck to choose. From the base truck, all the way up to pure luxury.

What is the Ford F-250 warranty?

  • 3 year/36,000 mile bumper to bumper
  • 5 year/60,000 mile powertrain
  • 5 year/60,000 mile roadside assistance
  • 5 year/60,00 mile diesel engine

What engine comes with Ford F-250?

Three engine types are available for the F-Series Super Duty lineup. The 6.2L V8, 7.3L V8, and 6.7 Power Stroke diesel V8.

My test truck was powered by the 6.7 Power Stroke diesel V8. It produces 475 horsepower and an astonishing 1,050 lb.-ft of torque. All trim levels are mated to a TorqShift heavy-duty 10-speed automatic with SelectShift.

What are the tow and hauling capabilities of the Ford Super Duty?

There is a large range of capabilities depending on engine, cabin, and bed size, however, the strongest Super Duty can haul a 7850-pound payload, pull up to 24,200 pounds with a conventional trailer hitch, and lug a massive 37,000 pounds with a fifth-wheel and gooseneck hitch.

What are the interior features of the Ford F-250?

A perfectly well-balanced interior with form and function, plus luxury, given I had the Limited trim model. It’s big, tough, and yet easy to use. Ergonomically it’s laid out to make sense, after all, it is a work truck and that seems to be the center of the design. Tons of compartments, and a spacious cabin for front and rear passengers.

Exempt for the base XL trim all Super Duties come standard with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s easy to use and full of features including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. It can also be upgraded with a 10-speaker B&O (Bang & Olufsen) stereo and SiriusXM satellite radio capable. Two 110v power outlets for no excuses.

The Panorama roof gives you a sense of greater space and of course more light in daylight hours. Nice fit and finish on materials and ultra-soft leather on my Limited.

How does the Ford F-250 drive?

I have two perspectives to answer this question:

As a fairly tall, family man, The crew cab is truly a massive cabin. 136 ft3 of volume to be exact. It easily accommodates 3 child seats side by side. Although the crew cab with a long bed (8 feet), is a big truck for small parking areas, it can easily be used as a daily to satisfy a family’s needs. Interior space is not an issue.

As a car enthusiast, I’m personally a truck guy. The F-Series Super Duties are as tough as it gets. My daily adventures do not require extreme payloads or hauling, but driving a big truck I believe is an inner itch many of us can relate to. The limited gives you that every day feels while still driving a highly capable vehicle. The performance is impressive with extremely quick accelerations. The truck satisfies the enthusiast in me.

Final thoughts

If you need to work and need a highly capable truck the Super Duties are proven. For many, these trucks are needed and for others, they are wanted, so it’s great that Ford accommodates all those needs with a huge spread in budget. It can be as bare or loaded as you wish. It’s a no excuse truck from all perspectives.
