Is the Chevrolet Suburban all new for 2023?
No, the Chevrolet Suburban is not all new for 2023. While there are some updates and additions such as the availability of GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving tech on Premier and High Country trim levels, new exterior colors, and the option for a blacked-out grille on certain trims, the overall model remains mostly the same for the 2023 year.
Suburban Trim levels
The Chevrolet Suburban is offered in six trim levels:
- LS
- LT
- RST
- Z71
- Premier
- High Country (as tested)
MSRP as tested $90,555.00 including destination charges.
What is the Chevrolet Suburban warranty?

What engine comes with the Chevrolet Suburban?
3-Liter Turbo-Diesel Six-Cylinder Engine
A 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V-8 engine powers all models except the top-tier High Country. The High Country trim comes standard with a powerful 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V-8. Additionally, this trim level offers the optional diesel 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine. While the diesel variant produces a slightly lower horsepower output of 277, it impressively matches the 460 pound-feet of torque generated by the larger V-8 engine.
All engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and offer the choice between rear- or all-wheel drive configurations.
What are the interior features of the Chevrolet Suburban?
The Chevrolet Suburban boasts significantly larger cargo and passenger spaces. With a couple more inches of legroom in both the second and third rows. Furthermore, the second-row seats are adjustable, sliding fore and aft as needed. The Suburban’s cargo area offers an expansive 145 cubic feet of space, with a flatter and lower load floor for added convenience.

Offering abundant infotainment and connectivity features, the Suburban ensures passengers stay connected and entertained. An optional rear-seat entertainment system, featuring two 12.6-inch screens mounted behind the front seats, is available across all models. Additionally, the cabin is equipped with numerous charging ports and a Wi-Fi hotspot. While the base LS model features an 8.0-inch infotainment screen, the rest of the Suburban lineup boasts a user-friendly 10.2-inch touchscreen with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster comes standard starting on the LT model.
How does the Chevrolet Suburban High Country Drive?
I have two perspectives to answer this question:
As a fairly tall, family man, No question it past the big people and a lot of people test! When I think of the ultimate family car it’s always the Suburban. Always a pleasure to drive and share with the family.
As a car enthusiast, It’s classic, the Suburban has been around for decades. I’m a truck guy, and still the 2024 carries that heritage. Amazing looks, highend and luxurious, yet extremely capable.
Final thoughts
Not a new contender to the segment, in fact, it’s the standard. Large size SUV’s in your near future? You can’t pass up in test driving a Suburban. There really isn’t anything to not like here.
