Is the BMW M4 all new for 2024?
No, the BMW M4 is not entirely new for 2024, but it has received notable updates. It now features the same 12.3-inch and 14.9-inch displays found in other BMW models, along with the latest iDrive 8 software. This update includes improved graphics, a new menu structure, and an enhanced BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant for better voice-command functionality. As the two-door counterpart to the M3 sedan, the M4 continues to be powered by BMW’s M performance division, delivering the same exhilarating driving experience.

What engine comes with the BMW M4?
3.0 liter Inline-Six
The BMW M4 is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine, available in two power levels. The standard version delivers 473 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, and it comes with rear-wheel drive paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
What are the interior features of the BMW M4?
The BMW M4’s interior shares the layout and passenger space of the regular 4-Series coupe but includes several unique features and race-inspired options. It has a thick-rimmed steering wheel with two red buttons for customizable M drive modes. The cabin can be upgraded with carbon-fiber trim and long paddle shifters on the steering column. The standard M sport seats are heavily bolstered, feature an illuminated logo, integrated headrests, and can be equipped with ventilation. Optional carbon-fiber front seats add a lightweight, lower-positioned seating option for an even sportier feel.
The BMW M4 comes with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Users can control the system via voice commands, steering wheel buttons, or a rotary controller on the center console. Standard features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Harman Kardon audio system. Additional options include gesture controls, a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot, and a wireless charging pad.

How does the BMW M4 Drive?
I have two perspectives to answer this question:
As a fairly tall, family man, while thrilling to drive, may not be the most practical for family outings. As a two-door coupe, getting the kids in and out of the back seats is a bit of a challenge, especially with the limited rear legroom and the lower roofline.
As a car enthusiast, an exceptional driving experience. Very responsive, with immediate power delivery. The car is pure fun, and dare I say overpowering. It never got old switching from ‘comfort’ driving to ‘Sport Plus’ driving mode, the car transforms. It is an immediate and obvious change.
Final thoughts
It’s a car that caters to the heart of a driving enthusiast while still being somewhat capable of handling day-to-day tasks in style. Those moments when I can enjoy the open road, the M4 offers an exhilarating driving experience blending everything you’d want in a sports coupe—power, agility, and a deep connection to the road.
