Yes, the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV is an all-new model. Unlike its compact-SUV sibling, it features a completely different powertrain, replacing gasoline with electric power. The base model is front-wheel-drive with a single electric motor producing 213 horsepower, while an optional all-wheel-drive dual-motor setup increases power to 288 horsepower. Front-wheel-drive models offer a driving range of up to 319 miles, depending on the trim level, and the all-wheel-drive version provides an estimated range of 285 miles. This new electric model sits alongside the traditional gas-powered Equinox in Chevrolet’s lineup.

What are the interior features of the Equinox EV?

The Equinox EV’s interior feels as roomy as its gasoline-powered counterpart. Inside, buyers will find a digital dashboard with a large 17.7-inch touchscreen in the center. The cargo space feels lacking but is sufficient to get the job done. The RS trim unlocks plenty of features, including heated seats, power seats, a sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and more. My 3RS model was outfitted with the optional Adrenaline Red interior theme, adding a vibrant and stylish flair to the cabin.

Every Equinox EV features an 11.0-inch digital gauge display accompanied by a secondary touchscreen for infotainment. In the 1LT model, the infotainment display is also 11.0 inches. However, a larger 17.7-inch screen is optional for the 2LT and 2RS models and comes standard on the 3LT and 3RS. Although Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not available, the infotainment system includes built-in apps like Google Maps and Spotify. Higher trim levels also offer in-dash navigation and an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot.

The ride quality is smooth, and the quiet electric powertrain adds to the atmosphere inside the car making my children fall asleep on any drive no mater the distance.

As a car enthusiast: The dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivers a brisk and satisfying driving experience. You can really feel the instant torque from the electric motors, I noticed considerably when navigating through city traffic or overtaking on the highway. The sporty design elements of the RS, particularly the Adrenaline Red interior, elevate the driving experience, making the Equinox EV 3RS not just a practical choice but a fun one too.
