All Chevrolet Trax models are equipped with 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, generating 137-horsepower and comes paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain mirrors the one found in the Chevy Trailblazer. All Trax models exclusively feature front-wheel drive.
What are the interior features of the Chevrolet TRAx?
The Chevy Trax undergoes a comprehensive redesign for the interior, with a focus on user-friendly placement of the driver-facing infotainment screen and climate controls. While the majority of the interior utilizes expected and budget-friendly materials typical for this affordable segment, the new Trax has an extended wheelbase. This extension translates to approximately three extra inches of rear legroom and an increase in cargo space. The driving position has been lowered, providing a more car-like and comfortable feel.
Chevrolet offers the Trax LS and 1RS trims with an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen as a standard feature, representing a notable upgrade from the previous generation’s fanciest version. For the LT and higher trims, a larger 11.0-inch infotainment touchscreen is included, complemented by an 8.0-inch gauge cluster. This integrated driver command center serves as the control hub for various new Trax technologies, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, an optional wireless phone charger, and a WiFi hotspot for connectivity on the go.
How does the Chevrolet Trax ACtiv Drive?
I have two perspectives to answer this question:
As a fairly tall, family man, In my opinion, the ideal size for an all-around commuter, weekend truck, or family car is one that offers a comfortable height. I appreciate this feature, especially nimble SUV’s, as it not only aligns with their intended use but also enhances safety for my family.
As a car enthusiast, I personally find the new Chevrolet design language quite appealing. I really like its sleek and contemporary look. Even though the interior has a modern touch, it doesn’t detract from the refined exterior aesthetic, which I appreciate. Plus, the wheel and tire combination adds to its overall appeal.
Final thoughts
In my view, vehicles, including trucks, seem to be growing larger and larger. This particular model feels like the perfect size for a versatile vehicle. It proudly bears the trusted Chevy badge, offering a blend of safety, technology, and stylish design. It’s a strong contender in its segment and is definitely worth considering.
