Is the Jeep Wrangler all new for 2024?
No, not entirely. The Jeep Wrangler is not all new for 2024. It receives a mild update with a refreshed grille, new wheel designs, and upgraded technology, including a standard 12.3-inch infotainment display with updated software and improved noise cancellation. However, its overall design and platform remain the same.

What engine comes with the Jeep Wrangler?
6.4L Eight-Cylinder
The Jeep Wrangler offers a variety of engine options for 2024. The standard engine is a 285-hp 3.6-liter V-6, which can be paired with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. For those seeking more efficiency, an optional turbocharged four-cylinder is available, featuring an electric motor to enhance low-end power. Additionally, Jeep offers a 3.6-liter V-6 with hybrid assist, as well as a 3.0-liter diesel V-6 for certain models. The lineup also includes a 375-hp plug-in hybrid 4xe powertrain for those looking for electrified performance. At the top of the range, the Wrangler can be equipped with a powerful 6.4-liter V-8, which is model that I tested.
The Wrangler comes equipped with a standard part-time four-wheel-drive system, which is operated using a lever on the center console.
What are the interior features of the Jeep Wrangler?
The Jeep Wrangler’s interior blends vintage and modern Jeep characteristics. The cabin offers a commanding view of the road or trail, making it easy to navigate, though rearward visibility is limited due to thick roof pillars, roll bars, and grab handles. The driver and front-seat passenger are positioned close to the upright windshield, facing a narrow, squared-off dashboard. Key features include round air vents and rugged switchgear for controlling the climate system, power windows, and the infotainment system. While not the most spacious SUV, the Wrangler’s interior maintains its iconic, utilitarian design.

While the Wrangler can be stripped of some basic comforts like air conditioning and power windows, every model comes equipped with a robust infotainment system. The Uconnect 5 interface is user-friendly, responsive, and displayed on a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard and work wirelessly. Additionally, the system includes onboard navigation with maps for over 2000 trails, plus an active noise-cancellation feature to help reduce cabin noise during phone calls while driving.
How does the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition Drive?
I have two perspectives to answer this question:
As a fairly tall, family man: In Miami it has a blend of practicalness and adventure. The elevated seating position offers a great view of the road, but space is tight, especially with my kids in booster seats. Sturdy ride, and while the power of the V8 engine is impressive, it’s not exactly necessary for everyday city driving. Despite not having trails to explore, I appreciate how the Jeep handles regular streets with a strong, confident feel.
As a car enthusiast: It delivers an exhilarating driving experience. The 6.4-liter V8 offers plenty of power, effortlessly propelling the Jeep forward. The exhaust note alone is a treat, adding to the thrill of driving. Though the Rubicon 392’s off-road capabilities are meant to shine off the beaten path, even in a city setting, it’s clear that this is a machine built for adventure.
Final thoughts
The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition is a powerhouse with impressive off-road capabilities, though it shines even in city driving. Its V8 engine delivers thrilling performance, but the firm ride and tight interior might not suit everyone, especially on family trips. For a fun, rugged driving experience, it’s hard to beat, but its real strength is felt on the trails.
