Is the Cadillac Escalade all new for 2026?
Not exactly. The big update for 2026 is the introduction of an even longer version of the electric Escalade called the IQL. It builds on the already massive Escalade IQ but stretches the body to create more room in the third row. Compared with the standard IQ, the IQL adds about four inches of third-row legroom and an extra inch of headroom, making the back seats more usable for adults or growing kids.
Escalade Trim levels
The Escalade is offered in eight trim levels:
- IQ Luxury
- IQ Sport
- IQL Luxury
- IQL Sport
- IQ Premium Luxury (as tested)

MSRP as tested $157,890.00 including destination charge.
What is the Cadillac Escalade warranty?
- 4 Year/50,000 mile Bumper-to- Bumper Limited Warranty
- 8 Year/100,000 mile Electric Vehicle Propulsion Battery Warranty
What engine comes with Cadillac Escalade?
Dual EV Motor
The Escalade IQ is fully electric and comes standard with dual motors and all-wheel drive. In normal driving it produces about 680 horsepower, but activating Velocity Max mode unlocks the full 750 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque. Unlike many EVs that only give a short boost, this mode can stay active as long as it’s selected.
The Escalade IQ is built around a large 205-kWh battery pack, which GM says allows it to travel up to 460 miles on a full charge. It’s also still capable when it comes to utility, with a towing capacity of around 8,000 pounds. Despite its size and weight, Cadillac claims the longer IQL version can reach 60 mph in about 4.7 seconds.
What are the interior features of the Cadillac Escalade?
The Escalade IQ interior is dominated by screens. Every model comes with a massive 55-inch curved display that stretches across the dashboard from one A-pillar to the other, giving the front seats a huge amount of digital real estate. Beyond the screens, it still feels like a proper Escalade inside. The cabin is trimmed in leather with polished aluminum accents, and ambient lighting runs through the door panels just above the armrests. Seating is set up with second-row captain’s chairs. In the longer IQL version, the third row gets about four more inches of legroom and an extra inch of headroom.

The Escalade IQ’s massive dashboard display runs on a Google-based operating system and does not include Apple CarPlay. GM made that decision in 2023 when it announced that future electric vehicles would move away from CarPlay in favor of deeper built-in system integration, while gas-powered models would continue to offer it. The large screens reflect how the Escalade has evolved into a more digital-focused SUV. There are still a couple of rotary-style controls on the center console and haptic buttons on the steering wheel, but most functions are handled directly through the touchscreen. Other available technology includes a 21-speaker AKG audio system, optional 5G Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and HD streaming for rear-seat passengers.
How does the Cadillac Escalade IQ Premium Luxury Drive?
I have two perspectives to answer this question:
As a fairly tall, family man, the Escalade IQ feels like a very comfortable, very large electric SUV. The seating position is high and commanding, and there’s a lot of space throughout the cabin. With three kids and two in booster seats, having a big second row and a usable third row makes a difference. The ride is smooth and quiet, especially around town, which makes the kids fall asleep quickly.
As a car enthusiast, the first thing you notice is the instant torque from the electric powertrain. Even with all its weight, the Escalade IQ moves quickly when you put your foot down. It’s not meant to be sporty, but it feels planted and stable for something this large, and the quiet electric drivetrain fits the Escalade’s luxury character well.
Final thoughts
The Escalade IQ Premium Luxury takes everything people like about the Escalade and brings it into the electric world. It’s big, comfortable, and packed with technology. For families who want maximum space with a modern EV powertrain, it makes a lot of sense.
