Is the GMC Hummer EV 3X Pickup All-New for 2026?

Not all new, but there are some meaningful updates. The biggest addition is the Carbon Fiber Edition, built off the top 3X trim. It brings unique styling touches like carbon fiber accents and 22-inch carbon fiber wheels, more for looks than weight savings. It’s also expected to be the quickest Hummer EV yet, with a claimed 0–60 time around 2.8 seconds thanks to software and calibration updates.

Beyond that, all 2026 models get a few upgrades. Bidirectional charging is now standard, so the truck can power a home if needed. Super Cruise has been improved and can now handle lane changes based on your route. Ride quality has been refined with updated damper tuning, and the four-wheel steering system gets an over-the-air update to improve its off-road capability.

There are also a few new color and interior options, but overall, this is more of a refinement year than a full redesign.

The Hummer EV 3X  costs significantly more than the EV 2X, but the additional cost nearly doubles the horsepower.

What engine comes with Hummer EV?

Dual and Tri Electric Motor

It’s fully electric, with either a dual-motor or tri-motor setup, both with all-wheel drive. The dual-motor version makes around 570 horsepower, while the tri-motor bumps that up to about 1,000 horsepower.

Battery-wise, there are two options. The standard pack delivers just over 300 miles of range, while the larger 24-module battery can push that closer to the high 300s depending on configuration.

Towing varies by setup—up to around 12,100 pounds with the dual-motor, while the tri-motor trucks trade some of that capacity for performance, landing in the 7,500 to 8,500-pound range.

What are the interior features of the Hummer EV?

It’s a crew-cab layout with a short bed, so you get a full four-door setup and usable rear seating. The design is interesting, but material quality doesn’t quite match what you’d expect at this price point. The standout feature is the removable roof panels. You can take them off and store them in the front trunk, which completely changes the feel of the truck and gives it an open-air, almost convertible-like experience. With the panels on, it feels more like a large glass roof. Inside, there are a few subtle design details tied to GM’s history with NASA things like textured patterns and trim elements inspired by lunar exploration. It gives the cabin a unique theme without overdoing it.

The Hummer EV uses a large 13.4-inch center screen paired with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. The interface was developed with Epic Games, and the graphics definitely stand out sharp, modern, and a bit different from anything else in a truck. That said, the system isn’t always as quick as it looks. There can be some lag at times, especially when moving through menus. You still get all the essentials wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and OnStar are all included.

How does the GMC Hummer EV Drive?

I have two perspectives to answer this question:

As a fairly tall, family man: It’s massive, no way around it. But the rear steering actually makes it easier to deal with than you’d expect in parking lots. The height and wide cabin help with visibility, and there’s more than enough space for kids and everything that comes with them. My kids really enjoyed the open air experience. It feels like something you’d use daily if you’re comfortable driving a big truck.

As a car enthusiast: It makes no sense and that’s the appeal. The acceleration is ridiculous for something this heavy. It doesn’t feel like a normal truck at all. The tech tricks like Crab Walk and now King Crab just add to the experience. It’s more of a statement than a driver’s car, but it’s still fun in its own way.
