Is the KIA Carnival ALL new for 2026?
No major changes here. The Kia Carnival Hybrid carries over mostly the same, with a slight bump in engine size to a 1.6-liter from last year’s 1.4. It still keeps the updates from 2025, including refreshed styling with new grille, lighting, wheels, and lower body details. One thing I did notice there’s no longer an LX trim in the lineup.
Kia Carnival Trim levels
The Kia Carnival is offered in five trim levels:
- LXS
- EX
- SX
- SX Prestige Hybrid (as tested)

MSRP as tested $57,490.00 including destination charges.
What is the Kia Carnival warranty?
- 10 year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty
- 10 year/100,000-mile limited battery warranty
- 5 year/60,000-mile limited basic warranty
- 5 year/60,000-mile roadside assistance
What engine comes with the kia Carnival?
1.6L 4-Cylinder Turbocharged GDI Hybrid Powertrain
All Carnival Hybrid models use a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder paired with a 72-hp electric motor, sending power to the front wheels. Combined output comes in at 242 horsepower, a bit lower than the 287-hp V6 in the standard Carnival. A six-speed automatic is standard.
The EPA rates the Carnival Hybrid at 33 mpg combined, 34 mpg city, and 31 mpg highway. Very fuel efficient.
What are the interior features of the Kia Carnival?
The Carnival Hybrid’s front cabin feels modern and easy to use. There’s a large center console with plenty of storage, and an available dual-screen setup combines the infotainment system with a digital gauge display for quick access to everything. Higher trims like the SX Prestige add leather upholstery, and you can option second-row seats that recline and include pop-up footrests for added comfort.
An 8.0-inch screen comes standard, but you can option a dual 12.3-inch setup that stretches across most of the dash—one for gauges, the other for infotainment. The system includes a built-in voice assistant that can handle things like climate control, navigation, or even opening windows. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. There are plenty of charging options throughout the cabin, including multiple USB ports and additional outlets. Rear-seat entertainment is available starting on higher trims, with dual 14.6-inch screens and Bluetooth headphone support useful if the kids want their own space on longer drives. A 12-speaker Bose sound system is offered, but only on the top SX Prestige trim.

How does the Kia Carnival Hybrid SX Prestige Drive?
I have two perspectives to answer this question:
As a fairly tall, family man, still just as easy to live with. The space, seating layout, and overall practicality haven’t changed, which is a good thing. It handles daily life without effort school runs, trips, all the gear. My kids already know the setup since my wife has an older one, so it feels familiar
As a car enthusiast, it’s not about power here, and you feel that compared to the V6. But the hybrid setup does its job well smooth, efficient, and easy to drive. What stands out more is the range. You can go a long time without stopping, which makes it a great road trip car. I still miss the V6 a bit, but for what this is, it makes sense.
Final thoughts
The Carnival Hybrid stays true to what it’s been practical, comfortable, and easy to live with. The updates from last year carry over, and nothing really takes away from the formula. If you need space, want something efficient, and don’t care about having the most power, it fits. For families especially, it just works.
